Building HungerStation's last-mile digital ecosystem
One of the earliest members of a new last-mile department, building its digital ecosystem from scratch, from rider onboarding and housing to fleet and a unified operations view.

Problem
When I joined in 2025, the last-mile department was brand new and growing fast, with no systems in place. Every step of a rider’s journey needed tooling: onboarding and paperwork, housing, vehicles, and getting them active and delivering. All of these had to work together from day one.
What I’m building
- An accommodation management system, built by me end to end. It covers properties down to individual beds and assigns residents synced from HR. It recently gained a maintenance ticketing system for logging and tracking issues on any property.
- The HR platform rollout. I wrote the product requirements and built the integration that creates a rider’s delivery account automatically once their onboarding is complete.
- Fleet management and vehicle telematics rollouts, integrated with HR so vehicles and allocations stay in sync. Live vehicle data covers driver behavior and vehicle health.
- Workflow automation linking the HR and accommodation systems to the company’s workflow platform.
- An operations command center, co-built with product, data engineering and BI: a data layer unifying 9 systems so far, with dashboards in progress.
How I work
I own the department’s systems end to end and manage a team of system analysts who implement partner solutions and provide first-line support. Day to day I work across product, data engineering, operations, BI, information security, finance and legal.
Key decisions
Integrate first, then unify
Each system was connected to the others as it went live, so a rider moves through onboarding, housing and fleet without anyone re-entering data. A shared data layer then brought them all into one view.
Some details are kept general to respect confidentiality.
